Firstly I’d like to describe the name that I came up with, “Blaq Soul”. The name symbolizes my inside thoughts, believes, culture and me as a human being. I’m African, I’m Blaq and everything I am is Blaq, even my music is a symbol, it’s deep and African. This is why I like using the African Elements in my music.

2004 was when I fell in love with the culture of house music. I was 14 and I liked the idea of being a house music listener even though I didn’t know what I was all about and what it meant. As I grew up and with a little help from my friends my understanding grew and it became clear what I wanted to do.

2005 was when I started learning how house music is produced. I started doing my own silly sounds which to me meant something great, even though I didn’t understand what I was doing. It was when I met with people who had more knowledge on the production of House music that I learned the Ins & Outs of how to make it. That’s when I decided to keep my music simple, deep, soulful and African.

What really inspires me is listening to House music, as listening is the best and most powerful tool that a producer has. I get my ideas just by listening to different kinds of House music and try to get inspiration that I can use in my music. There is however only really one person whose music really inspires me and that is Manoo Kosi from France. I’m truly in love with his sound and his style as it keeps me going….
