South Africa’s Mindlo & Essential I teams up with Chicago’s very own DJ Pap aka Black Mamba on this deep and soulful offering as their very 1st digital release for the year 2012. Mindlo & Essential I also known as the duo Nativeroots are two young music producers and DJs from Pretoria (South Africa) who met in 2008 when they both liked each other’s sound at a local gig. They started working on projects as a duo and came up with a hit song called ‘Secret in You’ which was supported on most popular radio stations like Metro FM and YFM. The release gave their DJ careers a boost and helped them earn a place in the music industry having recognition and support from legends like DJ Christos, Vinny Da Vinci, Kanunu and Static Plastic. During 2010, the two got offers to do remixes from some of the world's leading producers including Abicah Soul, Jamie Thinnes, Black Coffee and Oskido which some of the remixed projects got licensed in most compilation albums which include Zakes Bantwini’s debut album, ‘Love, Light and Music”, House Afrika Grooves – Seasons Recordings CD and Nitology Beyond Audio. Mindlo and Essential I also collaborated with Theo Kgosinkwe on the album Grateful with the song titled Good Life. They got huge recognition when they got an offer to remix Black Coffee’s Juju which is highly rated around the world by DJs like Rocco, Manoo and Lars. Their unique sound and skill of creating remixes caught the attention of many recording labels which include Electric Melt. The label offered the duo a chance to reproduce some of its legendary artist’s works like the late Busi Mhlongo as a project to honor the great artists of South Africa.
