| EMILE YX? Releases 2nd solo CD "Roar - Live it Loud"
The central theme of the album is returning meaning & value to the word, because many MCs rhymes have become empty like politicians empty promises.
About the tracks on "ROAR -Live it Loud, African & Proud” Album
The album consists of 17 tracks and an extended version of the track "Roar".
Roar - Speaks of collectively, aggressively shouting out against injustice and how young lions of Africa need to awaken from mental slavery.
Rise Up - Is about masses action against the few that manipulate them, through control of the media, to go to war against each other to enrich a few.
Babblers from Babylon - Speaks of rappers words being empty adverts for corporates. Words had power but now lack action, like politicians promises.
Soul Shine Bright - Speaks of our souls as the fire of the second coming. Our souls are energy & can’t be created nor destroyed. We live eternally.
Live it Loud - Is about Africans needing to live our love for Africa out loud. LOVE for Africa being the solution to crime, HIV, corruption, poverty, etc.
You're just a Slave - Speaks of us being enslaved by the views of our parents, society, so-called race, tribe and even to our own view of ourselves.
Just for a Moment - Is about Global warming & self-hate destroying the planet.
For their Money - Explains how most rappers think that wealth defines their success. Self-worth camouflaged by bling only hides their true value.
Is 'n Cape Flats Ding - Is a traditional klopse song sung at schools on the Cape Flats that exposes mixed people to themselves.
Energy - Is a fast pace hip hop elektro track that speaks about the power of the circle and its energy. This is for the b-boys & b-girls
The Rhythm - Is about the beat moving the dancer’s soul and possessing the god-like ability to create your own moves when letting go.
Shut Up Just Dance - is about dancers who spend more time talking, than dancing and allowing their dance steps to do the talking.
You - Speaks of the importance of finding yourself in a world where society tells you how to act and you struggle to keep your own identity.
Suip! - Is about the effects of alcohol on descendents of the "dop system" & it being the cause of rape, killing, drunk driving etc, but is not opposed like dagga or tik.
Afro-Wearing - Is about Emile’s experience of wearing an Afro in Africa and how
Africans hate their kinky hair & fear being African because of Apartheid.
No Bling Bling - Is similar to For the Money, but speaks of the priceless ness of each person and that bling just hides our inferiority complex and worthlessness.
My Hip Hop - Speaks of another hip hop that is seldom in the media. My Hip Hop that taught Emile more about Africa and loving himself, than his schooling.
Roar Extended Mix - Is the full song that has a second verse about the liberation of the captive lions that live in all Africans on the planet. |
